THE BEGINNING AND FORMATION OF THE HIGHLAND INDIANA REGION MODEL A RESTORERS CLUB
Our History
The six Model “A” enthusiasts who founded the Club were: John Minsberg, Ron Johnson, Jack Lessie, Ed Aumiller, Jim Nolen and Don Schaller. Ron Johnson served the Club as founding director. An ad in the local paper to attract additional Model-A’ers resulted in a total of 33 members for 1964. A 1931, 2-door sedan, purchased from Paul Moller, was raffled off and the net profit became the first funds of the Club treasury.
The purpose of the Club shall be to encourage the acquisition, preservation, restoration, exhibition and use of the Model “A”, including literature, technical and historical information, and to promote the introduction of ideas and fellowship among owners and members of the Club.
You need not own a Model A Ford to join or participate at any HIR Club sponsored event. All are welcome!
